Biography

Eileen Nail resides in Southwest Florida, near the Gulf of Mexico. She was born and raised in the Tri-Cities of upstate New York and has lived in Connecticut, Westchester County, New York, and Memphis, Tennessee.

She began her art career at the Fashion Institute of Technology and The Parson Institute, both in New York City. Subsequently obtaining her B.F.A. in painting from Memphis College of Art, she began her painting career using a variety of media.

Her work has been exhibited in many group exhibitions, including the Snow Fine Arts Center, Schering-Plough, Orpheum Theatre, Opryland Hotel Convention Center, Memphis International Airport, Playhouse on the Square, Memphis College of Art, Memphis Botanical Garden, Midtown Galleries, Brooks Art League Decorator Showcase, Northwest Mississippi Community College and the WKNO Gallery, where she received several awards. Her latest work was shown at the North Port City Hall and the Lakeside Plantation, in North Port, FL. Her work is currently being shown at the Art Center of North Port.

She has had private exhibits at the Germantown Library Gallery and a three-woman show at the Shainberg Gallery Memphis, TN. She was represented by the Perry Nicole Gallery and Midtown Galleries in Memphis, TN.

She taught art in the Children's Summer and Saturday School programs at the Memphis College of Art and continues to work with private students. She was a past President of "Artist's Link", an art development organization in Memphis and was active in "Arts in The Park" and "Artists in Action", both art organizations in Memphis, TN. She is currently serving on the Board of the North Port Art Center and is on the Art Advisory Board for the City of North Port.
